I was told they bought over 600 acres for a new theme park and looking for more land nearby...anyone else know anything?

I think it would be good for us people who don't want to travel so far to go to Disneyland or Disney World...but would really love to go to a Disney Theme park w/our young children....I sure don't want to drive or fly w/my 3 that far ! I'd need a vacation from my vacation.

These rumors pop up from time to time all over the country. Disney may be buying real estate as an investment, but they will never ever build another theme park in the US away from their two properties in Florida and Anaheim.
Why?
Because Disney wants people to attend the existing parks. Building another in another US location would draw folks away from visiting the other two. Florida was built to attract people living east of the Mississippi, and Disneyland attracts those west. Putting another park in the middle of the country would pull people living in the Midwest away from either park.
No, the next themeparks that Disney builds will be overseas.

I haven't heard that but I'm sure another theme park would be lots of fun. As well as a major profit for the folks at Disney.

Can't say I'm too excited for this. Although I don't think they can do much worse that George did with the 3 prequels. Hopefully they get a good screenwriter.

yes i was so disappointed when they pulled out of virginia because of the protest of rich landlowners like robert duvall...it as such a tragedy for many folks in the area
