Do not drive it, really, keep tires full of air, do your maintenance, air filterers, ect.. all that good stuff

wow,,all of the good answer,s, i own a repair shop in Tennessee,,and a few of the things i have to help them get a little better mileage is ,,always keep your tires aired up,,also keep a clean air filter in it,,good oil changes will help,also,,you can add a,, Kand N,, air filter to it,,and it will help it a lot,,other than that watch your driving habit,s,,taking off fast at light,s waste,s gas,,if you take off normal,,ou get there just as fast,,also don't fall for the gimmick that using a more costly fuel will save you money it don't,,use a good regular fuel,,and you will get good mileage,,also keep it tuned well ,,a car or any vehicle with over 15 thousand miles on it needs to have its plugs changed in it,,or at least took out and cleaned,,and re-gaped,this is about all there is to offer,,other than just use good common sense when driving,,that helps more than anything,,good luck with it,,i hope this helps.

put in a porformance airfilter run some stp fuel injetor cleaner though it that will give you better gas millage

yes the mighty explorer is a gas sucker. if you have done a tune up - there is little that can be done.
