Isn't there an only saying "a drunken man speaks the truth"?!
I think the alcohol gives you the courage to say what you've been holding back from saying - except the person you're saying it to is likely to also be drunk, so won't remember anyway!

I don’t think one becomes a whole different person with a whole different belief system just because they chemically suppress their inhibitions. Inhibitions are there for a reason, it’s good to keep ‘em active. I guess we all think some good and bad things about even the same topic. Pouring alcohol on a topic might just drown out the best stuff and leave the garbage.

alcohol changes your view on things (like knowing the truth might hurt someone, but the intoxication sees it differently, or just doesnt care that it will hurt the person or people)so thats when you tell the brutal truth, but alcohol can also just make you say and do wierd things (like when you have been up too late and you act goofy, or when you make up a lie to get attention) because alcohol takes away some of your abilities to comprehend, figure out, remember things etc. so it could be either one

I think being drunk removes inhibitions. Therefore, what you say when drunk is how you honestly feel.
Be careful, those walls that we build sometimes do have a purpose.

I think when we're drunk we say things we're really feeling but I think we wouldn't feel that way unless we were drunk.
So no, I don't think it's the real you coming out... It's the real intoxicated you coming out.

I think it is mouthing off. A lot of people would never sleep with other people when they are sober but do so when they are drunk... So obviously when you are drinking you say things that you don't mean.

I think what we say when we're drunk is our true feelings and beliefs, without the societal inhibitions in check.

I think it is about being a bit too honest. That is why I drink alone. Sometimes.

Best I remember is that alcohol reduces your inhibitions. Being drunk, therefore, perhaps gives others a look inside you. Whatever, it certainly doesn't do much for your image.
