I love God, but I have no religion. A person of Christian or Catholic faith would probably tell me I am going to hell...why? Because I don't want to be part of a religion where they talk about equality and being kind to everyone, but then turn around and tell me I will go to hell if I don't have a religion, or if I am gay...now that's f*cked up, people can't help if they're gay...sh*t, the Christians I know are more hate filled than the Atheists I have met. I was just wondering why anyone would want to be part of such a hate oriented orginization. And as for church...every time I have been to church, I heard the pastor talk more about donating your money to the church than anything else...they say God needs your money, why the f*ck does God need my money? All that money goes to is making the church nicer, or sending the pastor on vacation. Also if you actually read this will you tell me what your religion/beliefs are...if any.

I think you are being smart. It is important to question these institutions which seem to be brainwashing their members and making them feel dependent on bogus values. (cough cough sounds like our govt too)
I believe in a higher being. I'm not sure what/who it is, but I also am not sure if "everything happens for a reason". I don't believe in putting your full self into an organized religion. Although some people have to in order for survival because they are too weak to survive on their own. However, sometimes I feel we are all on our own and even though there might be a higher being, he/she/it is not looking out for us. We were put on this planet with potential to live lives of good or evil and the rest is up to us. It is not left up to prayer.
A family which lives near me has a multi-million dollar home including a dance studio, full basement including a kitchen, bar, pool table and video game area. The house is probably around 10,000 sq. feet. The father of the house is a Pastor for a "Christian" church. This is all ridiculous to me.

You can believe in God and not be a part of any church. I'm of the Catholic faith and I don't think you will go to hell if you don't go to church. You don't have to be a part of a religious sect to talk about equality and being kind to everyone--that should be a given. And if you are gay, so what? You are what you are and don't fall over when I tell you this, but God loves you anyway.
Yes, and I've heard the same thing too. Give until it hurts, blah, blah, blah. It takes money to run a church. And yes, the pastor often drives a nice car and he goes on wonderful vacations, but so what? so does everyone else. The guy is human. He needs a break every now and then. God doesn't need your money per se, but like I said, it takes money to run any household, even the house of God.
It's good that you love God, but I see that you hate organized religion. The two are different animals. Just because you feel this way does not mean that you will go to hell. Be kind to yourself.
Since I am not lazy, I will go now to your next question and answer it as well.

My so-called "religion" is Science. The scientific evidence is more important than a book (the Bible) that was written when nothing was known. Many things in the Bible have long been disproven.
Religion mostly just uses scare and fear tactics to get you to obey/conform and believe what they believe.
Nothing I believe in will ever ask me to give 10% of my income to them, like Christianity does.
Religion is why there are so many wars and violence, Christians versus Islamists.
Religious people typically, IMO, are worse people than non-religious/secular people. In my opinion, secular people are typically better and more peaceful people than hateful, Gay-fearing Christians.

I'm a christian! but maybe those christians were trying to tell you that because they want you to get saved! And you probably have bad christians in your neibor hood, because i know that christians wouldn't really do such a thing! you probbly won't go to hell, because you love God, but it's the sin that will send u to hell! Don't listen to your Christians friends, just go with your heart!

Except for your language I agree with you. ALL religions are man made. If any were actually GOD made as they claim then it would be logical, understandable and true. If any religion had those qualifications, everyone would flock to it and there would be only one religion. The reason there are so many is because none of them stand up to scrutiny.

Religion,
It isn't just reading your holy book, or going regularly to your church or praying.
it is much more than that, it is a system of life, religion is the spiritual law, it gives order and discipline to our life.
