Go to college for a little while, like for a semester and see what you think of it. I first went to college 5 years ago and I didn't even stay the whole semester. I stayed for about 2 months and I felt like it just wasn't for me. I didn't really like it. Now 5 years later I'm back in college. Last semester was my first semester back and I actually like it now. You just have to do things at our own pace. Maybe college isn't for you right now but it might be something you're interested in later. Or maybe college just isn't for you at all. Only you can decide whether it is or isn't. Don't let anyone make you feel bad if you decide not to go. And for the people who act like you're going to be unsuccessful in life if you don't go to college, that's not true. I know plenty of successful people who didn't attend college.

It isn't so much that college isn't for you, as much as you probably don't know what your true interest is. My sister did not like reading books or doing any bookwork or the discipline that comes with education. So, she got married, had four kids and was very happy. At 27 she took a painting class and holy cow she loved it. Her new found interest took her back to school and she enjoyed learning all she could. Lots of books around her was strange, but, hey she knew that she really wanted to teach painting. And she did and does. So you see, I don't think you may be ready for college unless you just want to get your required courses out of the way.
You first need to find your true calling, lots of people do just fine without college, but I think it always helps more than not.

I think you pretty much know by the time you graduate from high school. My own son, who is extreamly intelligent and scored a 1400 on his sat without any practice runs and having done no homework for years while in high school decided early on that he was not going to college. He never liked school and to this day(2yrs. outta high school) says he's so glad he didn't go to college. Needless to say, his dad and I were very disappointed with his decision but we respected it. He is saving his money from working at min. wage job and hopes to open his own computer business real soon. He got to keep his college savings and is using that as well towards his business. I do believe now, that he just wasn't geared for college and that many young people are in the same shoes as my own son. He is very creative and I don't think that the schools he attended ever focused on his creativity. Today, he plays music with his band, does comedy routines at comedy club and reads a ton of books. He hates his min. wage job but knows it's temporary. I do agree that one should give it a try first, before they give up on college. My son wouldn't even do that, and believe me, I tried everything to convince him(bribes and all) but to no avail.

College wasn't for me. I'm not bragging trust me...
I'm a smart girl. I was in college for one year & not a single thing challenged me. I couldn't deal with that. I was seriously learning how to add whole numbers in columns. (ones, tens, hundreds, etc...) Retarded. Middle school was harder.
I have a wonderful job now. You just have to work a little harder to get to the top is all.
