Good question. WE simply don't know who we are talking to on YA.
My race is caucasian, but I feel that needs defining.
A caucasian is considered white in complexion, but there are many shades of white, and most are actually shades of pink.
I am over 60 years old, but feel better now than I did at age 30.
I have been blessed with a great life in every way, and have gained so much knowledge of how the world works.
I'll try to keep my occupation a secret, but here's a hint:
