None of the P2P services are illegal. LimeWire, Bittorrent, BearShare, and others are all legal. But, they were designed to help students share files over a network (preferably for studying). When you download music or movies, it violates the copyright law. When you download something that you do not have the right or written permission of the company, it is illegal.
