Apart from the scare mongering shout that tobacco smokes contains formaldehyde and cyanide?
I know it not scare mongering as such but why oh why do tobacco companies have immunity from having to declare their ingredients on the packaging??? Come to think of it neither do brewers have to declare what is in their beer.
I've asked this question before and not got a half decent answer. So i'm trying again. Maybe second time lucky?

Cigarettes are not food. Beer, when sold in a pub, is similar to any other food or drink - you do not get a list of ingredients when you buy a meal apart from the obvious description on the menu.

As I understand it, ingredients must be listed an FOOD. I don't think anyone claims cigarettes are food. I would think the health warning that are required would be enough to stop anyone who is concerned about their health anyway. I don't know about beer. As a non-drinker, I never looked at the labels.

The simple answer is $$$ is power. It is total Sh*t I know but that's the long and short of it. But if enough people ask the question to the right people it could make a difference. And a nice celebrity or two to back the cause wouldn't hurt.

Is that true? I'm not a smoker but that sounds so wrong! Apparently theres a site that's full of these sort of facts. I'm gonna have to check it out for myself. (truth.com, I think - don't quote me though.)
They, like all things, should let you know everything in their product. Even some flavored water companies warn of a product that is involved with cancer, why don't cigarettes - PLEASE CAN SOMEONE ANSWER THIS?!?!

Because they pay the government lots of money so that they don't have to follow the rules. Also, since it doesn't count as food, it's probably under a different government agency that has different rules. However, I think they should put their ingredients on the package, but that doesn't mean that it's going to happen!

those are in actuality scare tactic statements to objective and shop people from smoking... I applaud them for that, although this is somewhat overdone... only think of of the risky aspects in charcoal... We prepare dinner with it, saturate our nutrition with the smoke and breathe all of it in together as cooking... no person ever mentions something approximately that... and a very good form of of those risky aspects modern-day in tobacco additionally are modern-day in charcoal...

If the package says "This product will kill you" in the form of a health warning, why do you need to know what's in it? Whatever it is, it's not going to be good is it?
