only about 1 or 2% of babie are actually born on the due date. at 40 weeks it's very uncomfortable to do most things....bub will come when she is good and ready. They can't stay in there forever!! lol

Walking and sex are both OK. Do NOT stimulate your nipples!! This will cause contractions, but not necessarily labor. If your baby is experiencing any stress and you stimulate your nipples, it could be very unsafe for your baby! Never stimulate your nipples unless your doctor has advised you to do so, and he will only advise you while you are on a fetal monitor. Some practitioners will recommend castor oil. Call them and ask. They will give you a correct dosage if they don't have a problem with it. Just remember, there are many old wives tales out there. Be safe and ask your doctor or midwife before doing anything! There is a light at the end of the tunnel. I promise. You won't be pregnant very much longer.

Try walking or having sex. Those are the 2 things my OB GYN suggested. You can have cramping/contractions anywhere from 5 months on. But, being so close to your due date, I would keep track of how often you have cramps. You may be in labor and not realize it. Lots of women do this & are dialated, don't know it, and have the baby after walking in the door of the hospital. (hopefully, that will be you !! NO PAIN) The major indicators are if you see a mucousy, bloody discharge in your underwear or when you wipe, that's your mucous plug. The other thing would be if your water breaks.

Trust me. Those aren't real contractions, they are braxton hicks. When you feel a real contraction, you will know.
There isn't much you can do-walking and nipple stimulation, but if they baby doesn't want to come, the baby won't. Whatever you do, do NOT take castor oil, blue or black cohosh. They can make you EXTREMELY ill.
Your due date is actually an estimate, and can be off by up to two weeks. Continue your ob/gyn appointments, and if they see cause for concern, they will induce you.

Your due date is always a guess... its based off of 40 weeks from the first day of your last period. Obviously, the likelihood of getting pregnant that day is slim. If you're over a week past your due date, call the doctor. But you could really only be at 38 weeks. Good luck!

I think that there isnt anything to worry about until you are like 2 weeks overdue. Then they might induce which would be great relief for you. I felt horrible when I was 40 weeks. Horrible. I felt so disgusting & sore. I was seriously just fatigued.

Walk alot, dont drink that castor oil like everyone says (it will give you diarreah & you will proabably poop on the delivery table more than normal), stimulate your nipples, have sex. A mans semen softens your cervix which can trigger labor. It will happen. You can't stay pregnant forever.

Doctors do not know exactly when your baby is due however, they just give you an approximate date. What you have to do is take a work that should induce your labor faster.

If you are having contractions that means the baby is coming soon, just be patient. It might happen tonight, tomorrow morning etc...

One or two days is nothing. They're usually wrong on the intended due date to begin with. It's just an estimate.

For instance, I was born 3 weeks late and my daughter was born 2 weeks late. It's no big deal. When it's time for the baby to come, you'll know it.

First, stop worrying. Babies come when they want to, not when a calendar tells us that they should.
Also, it's normal to go past your due date, my daughter was four days late, so don't worry, you could be giving birth tomorrow.

Walk alot, drink raspberry tea, do whatever is suggested by the other answers you get, just remember, your daughter will come when she is ready.
Good luck sweetie. You'll be fine.

walk or have sex. I was due on the 2ND and was not even dilated at all so they told me to come on the 5th to be induced I went in and well I was in there over night and after being on the medicine and all that I still had not dilated at all so they had to do a c-section. your doctor wont make you go to long after your due date they will bring you in to induce labor so don't worry.
