Lol, I'm a TX transplant. I have to say that they truely have manners here..yes maam and no maam. The educational system is one of the best I've ever seen, and it truely shows. Aside from the interesting twang that they have, I have never met more youth (17-25 year olds) who truely understood the world at a global level. Although I did not agree with every opinon they gave me, they backed them up with real facts. Since I've been here, my faith in our country's youth has been restored. OK, they are a bit on the proud side of being a Texan..but maybe they have a right.

Depends. There are some cool good ol' boys down there who do fun things with big rockets. Gotta love that.

Then there's some pathetic cowards who wind up hanging out with religious nuts and eventually living in DC, destroying the United States. They can just go to hell.

I hear that Austin is great. Dallas is, as far as I can tell, the only place that makes midwesterner tourists look healthy and svelte.

My sister is a Texan now. Originally from Michigan, and moved there about four years ago to go to A&M for her PhD. I get a kick out of her drawl she is picking up. She loves it there, and my mom and daughter love going to visit. The people are a heck of a lot nicer than northerners, but I still am preferential to living in Michigan, especially the northern lower peninsula.

I moved from Southern California to DFW area a year ago after spending over 50 years in So Cal. People are friendlier, politer, better drivers, much more courteous. The accent kind of put me off at first but I don't even notice it anymore. People seem less nervous, more laid back and less stressed then in So. Cal.

The people I have met from Texas are some of the friendliest, nicest people around. Big hearts, polite, willing to help.

And the accent is so cute!

We Alaskans like Texans - there are a lot of parallels: hunting, fishing, and oil.

But if you guys don't quit bragging about how big everything is down there, we'll split Alaska in two. And then you'll be the third largest state!

You can't stereotype. I look at the character of individuals, not place stereotypes.
