I was hoping if you kind people would help me find a nice elf name for a female character. Preferrably starting with an "A" or "Y". I have a few but i'd still liek to hear a few more. Haven't had much luck on the internet.

Is this for a fictional character, a role playing game character or are you actually planning to have an elven child?
My ex-wife and I named our daughter "Ilana", a Hebrew name that means "tree". You might spell it, "Ylana"; I'm sure my daughter wouldn't mind.
It's not one of the initials you specified, but I once had a half-elven AD &D character whom I named "Wynlief". The name means "fond of pleasure" or "pleasure-loving." He was male, but the name would do as well for a female elf, I think.
Then there's the possibility of Yseult. An old Gallo-celtic name meaning unknown (by me that is). You may remember the name from La Morte D'Arthur or from Wagner's opera, in which it is spelled "Isolde"'; the opera, "Tristan und Isolde" is, of course in German.
If it were me, I would make something up, such as Yavallie or Anandalinde or even Auramakua if you want a more exotic sound. The last is Hawaiian and is a technical term from Huna, the traditional Hawaiian magickal form. Or from Irish, there's the lovely Aoife, pronounced "weefah".
I hope one of these will work for you or suggest an idea of your own.
Best of luck with the story, the game or the baby.

Back in the day when I was a Dragon Quest nutter my favourite character was a gelfling named Canna - she was awsome! Also my daughter wrote a story a couple of years back and called herself "Little Fidgit" in it which I aways thought was cute (is a fairy name though, not an elf). I like Ari, is simple but sweet

How about Arwen, Nolwenn, Neelah? I always thought those would be cool as elf names. Actually, the first one IS. But the others I come up with myself.
