If you want to teach Spanish in any public school, you will have to have a certificate from your state. Go to your state's website and look for Teacher Certification... you can always check with your Career Placement Center on campus or even with the Dean's Office of Education.

For High School level or JHS, you need a college degree + certification.
Ultimately you have to get a Masters degree in Spanish.

for college level, you need a minimum of a Master's degree and 4 years experience. However, some Universities require a PhD in Education pertaining to foreign language Spanish.

Yep. We need Certification to teach *anything* at high school OR college level in the U.S.

This may not apply to private high schools, though.
