Why certainly they can. Use a good brand of fuel injector cleaner such as Outlaw or Chevron with Techron, I always found the 99 cent bottles to be less effective. Pour a bottle in and fill up the tank and drive until almost empty again, around every 6,000 miles. Most dealers also offer a fuel injection service and intake cleaning at 15,000 mile intervals. Of course any fuel injected vehicle could use a little cleaner now and then. Just follow the directions on the bottle.
