Why should they? These people ignored the demand to evacuate, cried that Bush hated them after not getting help to them for ignoring the order and continue to complain like this...if I were Bush I'd ignore them too.....
People in this country have it backwards, its not the federal government that is most responsible - it is the people that are most responsible.

help became into provided, and the two the community and the state government refused it! Then they undesirable mouthed the Bush administration for no longer being there to assist, just to conceal up their own incompetence! in my view, as a tax payer, i'm getting rather pissed off approximately each and every of the tax money that are being spent to rebuild a city the place they have accomplished no longer something to guard themselves from the subsequent typhoon that comes alongside. New Orleans... possibly mom Nature is attempting to show you how to comprehend something... Like GET THE HELL OUT AND stay OUT!!!!!

Oh, you have GOT to be kidding.
The Government (not Mr. Bush personally...that's not his job) has spent MILLIONS in New Orleans, and has plans to spend millions more.
MY question for YOU is why so few people in that area have done anything to help THEMSELVES? I know one couple (count them!) who had adequate insurance in advance, and were able to replace their house and both cars.
These folks told me horror stories about swarms of people hanging out waiting for a handout, and spending their daylight hours inventing new ways to falsely gain the gift cards the government and the Red Cross provided.
If the local New Orleans government is any guide ("Don't touch those school buses!"), I'm not sure we need do much more for these people.

They have no oil to steal. Why do 44 million Americans have no basic health Insurance? Half of that number being women and children. I know the answer. The answer is simple. Because Bush and his Republican cronies don't care. They care about more wealth for the people in power. They care about tax cuts for the wealthy and their goal of ending Social Security at any cost. We have a $9 trillion national debt under Republicans.

I am a katrina survivor...I lost half of my immediate family...Bush did not forget New Orleans..George Bush is not to blame for hurricane Katrina..The government are the ones who bought us this house we now live in, Fema is the one who bought us the necessities we needed to get backn on our feet..So people need to stop blaming the government for Katrina..And just in case you have forgotten New Orleans is not the only city devastated by the hurricane..

Simple to understand.
All efforts were made to get involved with Iraq, and not much kept in reserve for "just in case".
"Just in case" happened a year ago, and Bush was found sucking wind, gasping, and saying:
"We can do both Iraq and Katrina".
Yeah.
I just read what jL_jack09 said. Give him the 10 points!

Did Bush abandon Florida and Alabama and Mississippi too? Why don't I hear whining from Florida, who 2 years ago was hit with 6, yes SIX hurricanes? How come nobody's worried about Alabama or Mississippi? They actually had destruction from Katrina, not a lake overflowing. It's because they're taking care of themselves through proper STATE channels.
I'm guessing if Nagin was mayor in some other city, you'd be whining about that instead of New Orleans.
Stick to comic books until you mature a little more.

I know, I have asked similar questions. Bottom line is it is the job of the city, county, state, and federal governments to get this taken care of.
Bush is at fault for putting his crony crook friends in places they don't belong, that's for sure. FEMA should have been aggressively after New Orleans to take precautions, and they did not. Bush will only help people who help him. He doesn't give a rats ( )( ) about the regular American people...even the poor, pathetic, Republicans who awarded him two terms.
