Many local areas don't allow burning in your yard for reasons of air pollution and/ or fire danger. Even if you could burn your garden safely, why would you? Remove any diseased plant materials and throw them away in your garbage. Then spread any compost, grass clippings, raked up leaves, or other organic material onto the garden just rototill the remaining debris into the soil. Your garden will be much more fertile next year if you do this rather than burning it away.

A better way is to cut down what is left standing, then cover the garden with black plastic and let nature take it's course. The heat from the sun will burn off the garden and come spring, just take off the plastic and till the garden under. Good Luck!!

What I always use is "Roundup". Get the one with the purple lid as it is the strongest on the market and most stores keep it locked. I use it in place of a weed-eater. Just mix in a 2 gal. pump up sprayer and spray along fence line, around trees any boarder. Just read all instructions carefully and realize it decomposes after a few hours and is harmless to the soil. But you do have to be careful with it as it will kill any vegetation you get it on. It will make short work of a finished garden no matter what you had planted. After it is completely dead I'd either burn it where it is or just till it under (that's really the best thing to do). It is expensive but with out question makes work much easier

do a controlled burn. The ashes are good for the soil. If that is not going to work, then till everything under.
