im going to be going to a new high school now and i only have a couple friends going there. IN the past, i've been able to make friends very easily like in 6th and 7th grade. But now, ive become alot more shy and less open about myself. I used to talk like 24 7 but now i barely even say a word. Why did i change? and how can i become my old self?

I have no idea why you changed from being a talker to being a non-talker. Have you had something happen in your life that wasn't pleasant? Usually, when we get older, we lose the shyness stuff, and just become ourselves, but you are doing the opposite. Watch the news, read the newspaper, watch MTV and maybe you will be able to talk about things that are important to your peers. Obviously something must have happened to make you go from being a talker to a non-talker. Can you figure out what happened? Maybe someone told you to "Shut Up", or said that you talked too much. Think about it. I hope that this helps you. Take care.

i had/have the same problem. just talk about anything. you know most likely the teachers will ask you to meet someone new and see what they did over the summer. everyone wants to meet someone new at times. i think your problem with talking is probably like mine. i am a naturally shy girl when i moved to a new home in 8th grade i was so shy i could barely say hi.
i've improved but still am a lil shy. let loose ppl might like the real you stop being so uptight about it

I feel the same way i'm going to a different high school then my friends because i'm moving. I get shy and can't open up to people like i used to because i closed up to my friends at the other school. So if you try getting people that are friendly or shyer then you and make conversation.

i experienced that when i entered college just like you i talk a lot some times i shouldn't last long without talking then all of a sudden i stop talking bec i thought that when you're in college you should keep a barrier or something so the people around you would cast you pain but then when i met my new classmates and be friends with them i start talking again but i have limits this time! keep in touch with your friends they can help you once in a while!

Perhaps you just feel intimdated going into a new place. Just try and find people with similar interests to yours. Join a club or two. As you get more comfortable in your surroundings, you'll open back up again.

You need to gain confidence. Try joining a sports team like football. The babes will line up to talk to you.
