Keep in mind that when you say lose weight, you may mean gain muscle mass and decrease the prevalence of fat tissue.

1. Exercise. Exercise. Excercise. (Make sure it is ENJOYABLE to him so that it will be a sustained activity instead of a "once in a lifetime I did it because everyone hates me the way I am sort of thing.")
2. Encourage healthier eating, less sugar, pop, canned foods in general as they tend to be too salty and sugary...more fruits, vegetables...make that enjoyable too...
3. Make sure he gets enough sleep. Sleep affects weight too.

His eating habits should be monitored, like for example reducing his portion sizes drastically. He should also be weened off junk food and onto more healthy foods. Getting him involved in sports would also help. That way he would be having fun and losing weight at the same time. At 11 years of age, it's important that losing weight is made enjoyable so he will keep up the good habits and not want to rebel against them. Hope this helps.

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.

The plan was so refreshing and so simple to follow. I did everything plan said and lost 23 pounds in the first three weeks. I'm now starting the diet again to lose 7 more pounds. This plan has changed my life.

Get started today!

dear friend, all ur nephew need is a balanced nutrition meal. Do u agree with the saying that WE ARE WHAT WE EAT. When u feed our body right we turn out somehow right. What I can suggest is to go on a weight management programme as i did (for weight loss then towards health maintenance). The product is natural n safe. Anyone who can drink can take it. FROM THE WOMB TO THE TOMB. Furthemore it comes as a delicious shake n kids love them. It also comes with the 30days money back guarantee n me as a personal coach for monitoring till he's got his ideal weight n maintain it. But of course he is a growing child. I meant maintaining in accordance to hsi age. If u need to know more on how else i could assist u, do drop me a mail at rubeeg2002@yahoo.com. Take care n hope to hear from you soon.

Hi
This plan helped me loose weight so here goes,
If you are serious about losing weight, the calories in the food you eat should be less than the energy you use. You will have to increase your metabolic rate now, and plan your diet carefully.
Formulate your own weight loss plan and you will lose weight faster. More details available at http://tinyurl.com/m7ckx

Good luck

Well, if he's eating a lot of food, mostly junk foods, you could probably have him stop snacking on them so much.

Does he go outside and play a lot? Sports? Maybe he's just built that way. I don't know much, but I do know that DNA isn't always directly from the parents.

At the very least, probably exercise and less junk food? I'm assuming he probably doesn't know how to eat healty at that age :b

It's not your problem. It is his parent's problem and they are the ones who should be involved. If they do not see it as a problem and are willing to do something about it, then there is little that you can do without alienating your family members and the boy.
