Easy. 3 * 25 = 75
75 - 5 = 70
70 / 3 = 23.33 = What the manager got from them.

5 - 2 = 3
The tip was 2 and each man got 1, so 1 * 3 = 3.

The problem is that people tend to count some dollars more than once. If you do, the error is hard to find.

23.33 + 1 = 24.33
Each man gave a (2 / 3) tip equal to .66
24.33 + .66 = 24.99 which is about 25 dollars with a rounding error.

The cost offered to them is 70 dollars (original 75 - 5 dollars). They each paid 24. 24 x 3 = 72. They actually paid 72, and the extra 2 dollars over the 70 offered them is the 2 dollar tip the bellhop has.

I believe the answer is:

75/3= $25 each hunter. Nothing ever changed. They recieved $5 back but they split it among them so they have $1 extra. They really paid $20.
