Some are- some are scams to get your credit card information. A while ago, my friend did a promotion which asked for him and 5 other friends to take part in a special internet offer for various corporations which required thier credit card information and email addresses. He fulfilled the requirements and recieved a completely legitimate ipod in the mail. However, his is one (rare) success story which doesnt have a completely happy ending. The corporations to which he gave his email addresses and credit card information (as well as his friends') still have that information and have been spamming his and his friends' emailboxes (even new ones that are linked to old accounts- meaning that you can't always escape spammers just by creating new email accounts). They also have valuable credit card information which, if not monitored closely, can be abused. Be careful when trying to get free stuff offline. The headache you save by not giving your email address out to people, and the peace of mind you retain by not letting out valuable credit card information is worth the full price of whatever gift you are trying to receive. Just save up money and buy it if you really want it.

Delete them.
Most of them require you to sign a contract for something else
or get a credit card and spend so much per month.
