Depends on which team wins the Division and advances to the playoffs. BTW, there are other teams except the Yankees and Red Sox ;-)

Absolutely, Derek Jeter is the MVP of the Yankees...Ortiz isn't even the best(MVP) on the Red Sox, Ramirez is, even if he is a terrible defensive LF...There is nothing wrong with being a fan, but at least I try to look at things objectively.. If you're talking about AL MVP and you don't even mention Joe Mauer or Jermaine Dye?...The Twins and White Sox both have over 70 wins and are right in the thick of the race..
Jeter BA-335 OB%-411 SLG-472 OPS-883
Dye BA-324 OB%-392 SLG-636 OPS-1028
Mauer BA-360 OB%-439 SLG-515 OPS-954
My vote would have to go to Dye, who is having a great season both in the field and at the plate...Unlike Jeter who is not a good defensive shortstop to say the least(RF-3.9) and Ortiz who does not own a glove(he did borrow one for a couple of games hahaha)...Mauer would be second on my list...
I'm a life long Cardinals fan and Royals fan since 69 so it's not like I'm being a "homer"...

The DH means nothin this year. It all depends on who wins the Division. The Red Sox have the toughest schedule ahead and the Yanks have a relatively easy one. So, Ortiz has no chance. To be valuable, you have to lead your team to the playoffs. Will ORtiz do that? No, cuz the Red Sox suck and won't make the playoffs.
Jeter is the guy, I'll take him over any baseball player out there, he is the best.

This is a very unbiased answer since I hate both of these players and the teams they play for.
Jeter
DH's are not MVP's

Jeter is to the Yanks what Ortiz is to the Sox... its gonna be a tough call.... you shouldn't hold all this DH crap against Papi... he is out there everyday and at the end of games he gives them a chance to win. his clutch hitting is gonna win him the award but Manny deserves alot of the credit for batting behind him

In order for jeter to be MVP, he has to play on a championship team. That isn't going to happen.

it extremely is all on the subject of the huge harm. huge Papi won't even see the Playoffs, and Jeter is enjoying an AllStar pastime everytime the Yankees hit. the huge harm has gained such various video games for the A's its ridiculous. 6 Hrs interior the final 6 video games and counting... huge harm for Comeback participant of three hundred and sixty 5 days and massive harm for MVP '06
