the pop up says my computer is defective. When my spyware cleans it will that be removed

It depends on where the popup is coming from. If its coming from something on your computer already then the spyware should take care of it. If its coming from a website you're visiting then you need a pop up blocker. Your computer is most likely not defective and the pop up is probably just trying to get you to download or buy some software that is says will fix your computer. If so, then you probably don't really need to software, its just a ploy or a scam.

Not necessarily. The free programs do not always pick up all spyware. Try Microsoft's Anti-spyware which is free and should do the job. Link below. Best of luck.

Sometimes it's best to scan after turning off system restore and running the virus/spyware scanner in safe mode [F8] instead of regular start up.

Then, turn on system restore after the virus has been removed.

Spyware removers do not get rid of viruses. Try going to trendmicro.com and use their free antivirus scanner.

Depends what remover you are useing. Goto www.ewido.net and use the free version.
Some of the free ones will scan it for you but you have to pay to get rid of it.
Ewido will remove it for free

not usually. the free one's are usually on a timelimit or not the full thing. you may not get the update options.
