doesnt matter, as long as Bush is no longer in power. He is a troubled person, because of him, so many American Lives are lost @ war.

Contrary to what you may believe base on the frequency of this question, most Americans don't care about the race of gender of the president. Some only care about party affiliation. Some are more concerned about the persons stand on the issues. Both of these apply to both major parties. I don't know if there is a black or a woman who could win in '08, but I know a few that would stand a good chance of winning there party nomination.

Despite what many deluded people think, Hillary will not be the next president. Too much political baggage from Bill's time in the White House and her politics are too liberal for main street. Liberals from the Northeast have always been poison for the Dems sine 1960.
But look for Condi to be VP unless there are some really juicy stories about lesbian affairs around.

We don't have a black majority in the United States, as I believe South Africa does.
If current population trends continue we'll more likely have a President of Mexican descent before we have a black president.
As far as women, Hillary Clinton is fairly well regarded as a viable candidate, but she's very "polarizing".
There is a grass roots move afoot to draft Condi Rice. She would not only be the first black and first woman, but the first single as well.

I certainly hope to see a black person, male or female as president someday. A minority president would definitely show that this country is moving in the right direction. As with anything as important as this, I would definitely vote for the most qualified person. The reason why you don't see minorities as frontrunners for the presidency is because the playing field isn't fair. That, however is another topic altogether.

No matter how much we try to deny it, we are still a racist and naive country. The majority of men will not vote for a woman to become president because she is a woman. The majority of the country will not vote for a person who is something other than white because us Americans think the white people are still superior. I do not like this country, and I hate to see what it'll turn into in the next few decades.
I'm moving as soon as I turn 18, which is 2 years away.
We will be looking at Communist America soon, you mark my words.

There probably won't be a black president, because the majority of people in the U.S.A. are white.
Although, there is a chance Hilary Clinton might run. If she wins she'll be the first female president.

Why are you insistent on having a woman president? What we need is not a woman in the face of Islamo-terrorists who spit in their faces, but a man to clean the problem up. Perhaps you are just playing on our thought strings when you say you are from S. Africa? Or perhaps you are the UN president?

Have no idea who they will pick in 2008, but it might be Hilary Clinton vs Rudi Guiliani.
Frankly I like Barak OBama and I'd love to see him run for president in 2012 after he's had more time in the US Senate.
I'd like to see the US actually have a female president one day.
But for my south african friend, will they actually one day vote for any party other than the ANC? Tomba isn't the greatest or brightest president you ever had. What's he done for you lately? And his stand on Aids stinks.

Why not an Eskimo Hermaphrodite?
White males are a minority in the U.S....after you add up all of the women, Blacks, folks of Spanish, Asian, Indian, Middle Eastern, etc. descent.
I don't know why THEY don't elect some "different" type of President! They must like the White European Male tradition.
Me? I'm a Condee kinda guy.
