During what time of the year do the festivities begin? Am I a little late?

You are too late for this year and too early for the next.
Carnival in Brazil is in February or March and it's not a fixed date.
Following a lunar calendar, Carnival starts 47 days before Easter.
For 2007 it will take place on February 17th.

Sushobhan 16 India 1. Brazil is the largest country in South America. It holds a good part of the Amazon rainforest. It is considered on eof the four tigers of the developing world in the BRIC nation theory. brazil has a lot of beaches, and a very famous statue of Jesus. 2. No. But I would like to visist because i hear the ppl are very friendly over there 3. Yellow and Green 4. An Alligator, though i don't know why :-) 5. I would like to see the Statue of Jesus. I didn't even know brazil had carnival. thought it was only the carribean countries in south america.
