It would make sense to wait until marriage to have sex, back when people got married at age 13. But that's no longer the case, why should people be expected to wait that long? Why do adults tell teens to wait until marriage?

That's actually a very, very good point.

I don't know.

They should be expected to wait that long to have sex. You have a good point about the age difference. I've never really thought about it that way, but if they don't get married until age 30 then it think they should wait until 30. Adults tell kids not to have sex, because it can get them pregnant and have a child.

Adults tell that to teens because sometimes a teen becomes pregnant and both r not ready to become parents yet. But when ur in legal age, i think it's ok as long as u have a stable job to support a child. Besides, it's a free country. U make ur own decisions.

When two have sex, they are said to be joined irreversably. Part of that is physical regarding the likely pregnancy. The other part is spiritual. So then two marry and become one flesh. It is not really understood though it is generally accepted among Christian tradition. It is further believed that in the case of divorce, you don't get two people back. In that case, you get one person torn assunder hence the pain and tragedy of divorce.

Adults tell teens to wait until marriage because giving yourself to a man is a precious gift from you. A gift for only one man, not many. Plus you could get pregnant and be without a father to your child.
Trust me, I have been there and If I had it to do over again I would wait....

We tell you to wait because there is too many teen pregnancy, STDs and AIDS among you teens. Teens these days tend to sleep with more partners because they know no better.

You teens need to listen to us adults because you are the future and we do not need a future that is all jacked up because you teens do not want to listen to us.

I heard right that when ppl have sex their souls are joined together so if u break up you'll always still have feelings for that person. I used 2 think y not have sex and have fun but then i thought about it i would want my husband(whoever that may be) 2 get all of me not part meaning someone had me before.

Sex is not what makes the relationship or marriage. you wont regret waiting. If you choose not to wait make sur eyou have protection from std and pregnancy. Sex in a marriage is special and saving yourself for the one you will love forever is very special for you and for your spouse. Recommend waiting--

if your not married and have sex and end up pregnant then the daddy doesnt feel he should stick around. then the mom would be stuck with raising the child alone. PREMARITAL SEX ISNT GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
