I'd get it inspected at a good angling shop before using it, I don't know if they deteriorate with age or light. Might be worth a bit so don't take any chances.

Take your inheritence has a gift, you will probably not be able to do any serious fishing with it, but it is certainly an antique of the future. like anything made with skill and love it's worth cherishing and looking after. Tight lines, and all the best.
