Richard was a damn fine actor who was a well educated and classically trained actor and motivated to get out of his working class background. His voice was rugged and had depth from stage performances but sadly deteriorated due to alcohol difficulties.
I still say that Anthony Hopkins is the best of the Welsh as he was not such an academic actor and is more of a tactile, sensitive performer which you can see in his hand movements at all times.

Richard Burton had the most sublime voice but in my opinion his pursuit of money (buying jewellery for Liz Taylor) led him to do some right turkeys and he never fulfilled himself as an actor. Similarly, Anthony Hopkins in his alcoholic years in LA did some total rubbish TV/films but has proven himself since in some brilliant films - my personal favourite being Shadowlands.
So my vote is for Anthony Hopkins!

I vote Anthony Hopkins. The only other Welsh actor I can think of is Catherine Zeta Jones but I don't think she is such a great actress.

Dick Burton was the man. But alive today I'd say, Philip Madoc, who's absolutely brilliant as the dead pan police officer in the TV series, 'A Mind To Kill'.
A vastly underrated actor. Been in, Dad's Army, UFO, Doctor Who (TV and Film) The Last of the Mohicans, ect.

Anthony Hopkins is a much better actor and does Burton better than Burton ever did.

For the best voice and all around acting ability you are right. But let us not forget Kathrine Zeta-Jones she is certainly memorable.
I don't like Tom Jones or any of this songs but that is a personal preference.

Theres slightly more to acting than a voice. Burton was top though.

Catherine Zeta Jones is Welsh and I think quite possibly one of the most versitle of all time...she plays american, she plays french, she plays spanish, you name it...and she even does cell phone commercials....
you tell me!
And she even did a movie with Sean Connery

Antony Hopkins for me. I always like him in a brigde too far and international velvet, good all round actor
