His estate is responsible. Unless you signed as guarantor for the bills, you have no liability.

You are not responisible for the debt. Either the nursing home will use it as a write off, or the state will pay (as in medicaid)

If he has a will that leaves an estate, creditors can file lien against the estate.

I think the nursing home is screwed. Why should you have to pay for anything?
