Several ideas come to mind. Many people have "family" bibles - perhaps there was a falling out in the previous owner's family (a divorce or whatever) that inspired an act of anger.
Second, perhaps someone converted to another faith, or got angry at "god" for an injustice and used the burning as a cathartic release of those emotions.

strange might not mean anything really though........
someone could have thrown it over or into the garden or evil spirits could want you tyo keep out
get as much info on the place and surrounding area as you can and go with gut instinct no matter how silly it might be

It probably means the previous owners had a clear out and big bonfire before they left, don't sweat the small stuff.

dont like the sound of that!!!!! to burn a bible is strange to say the least!!! dont no wot it means but i wud be wary!!!! take care and think long and hard before u perhaps take on the property!!! :-)

it means the fire was only slight...probably no structural damage. If it was larger you would not recognise the bible unless jesus was standing there shaking his head and mumblin g the ficking burstards
