There are 4 quarters to a game, each quarter is 15 minutes of actual playing time. Therefore there will be 60 minutes of actual playing time, but due to commercials, timeouts, instant replay halftime, the games usually last 3 - 4 hours. There is also the possibility that the game will go into overtime, and that could add some extra time to the game.

A football game is 60 minutes long. There are four quarters, 15 minutes per quarter.
In actual time (real life) it usually lasts 3 hours. That includes commercials, the half time show and quarter intermissions.

60 minutes
4 quarters per game * 15 minutes per quarter = 60 minutes per game.
That is how long the GAME is.
If you want to know how long it takes the game to be played from opening kickoff till the last play is completed, that is a different question with a lot of different answers, because every NFL game is different.
