I know in the state of New York..it is illegal for someone under the age of 21 to even touch alcohol. And I mean an unopened bottle.

You must be 21 years old to drink in the united states my friend. Even if you are one day shy of turning 21 you are still under age. Now if you are caught with beer and you are under 21 then it is a minor crime, but I'm sure a fine and some probation would not be to far fetched as punishment for this crime. So if your going to drink and your under age, just do it at your house before you go out.

I dont think its illegal, so long as you werent drinking it and you didnt buy it? But i dont know for sure. I know after 16 you can sell it in most states. and over 18 you can serve it.
