2 1/2 had a cough and low-grade fever; woke up with rash around legs like a road map, w/ a few spots that look almost like they could blister.

I think 2 1/2 years is long enough to avoid seeing a doctor. Get moving!

You should see a doctor - if the rash and fever carries on in the night, don't worry about taking your child to hospital - they don't mind. It's better to be safe.

Best case scenario - heat rash, but have a doctor look at it - rashes need the expert
