Men have nipples. This to me means that the 'blueprint' for life is female. Is that bad logic? (question in a question i suppose) And for the pedantic zooologists that happen to know more of animals than humans ... i AM talking of the human race here.

I would assume it's because it's easier. The only difference on a fundamental level between a male and a female is the x and y chromosomes. I think it would be easier, and more suitable for breeding purposes to let a human male and a female develop in the same way. Same brain, same blood, same hair... The large differences are possible due to the chromosomal difference, and since the females have to be equipped with the necessities to bear children, it would make sense to me that the male subjects have smaller, non functioning versions of the same... It's like a car plant. Imagine two different models of cars built on the same chassis. some parts of interchangeable, some are not. The point is, the operation is streamlined using the same chassis, and the chances for error are reduced.

If men were a species without things like nipples, I would think the DNA and the RNA would be too drastically different to breed with a female and have decent offspring.

As for a blueprint... I would say the blueprint is capable of being male or female, and is equipped to handle both. Kinda like a chassis!

As has been said we all start of as female. The Y chromosome supplied by the father causes the production of testosterone at about 6 weeks which makes the baby grow testicles and a penis apart from other male characteristics. If the production of testosterone fails or the baby cannot process it then the child can be more feminine both in the body and in the brain. This is believed to be the cause of homosexuality, transvestism and transsexualism. This are documented cases of a male child (ie one with an XY chromosomes) being born as a female. Also a number of cases of male children born as females then becoming male at puberty.

I suppose from an evolutionary stand point, the easier to create and more generic form of human is female. Up to a certain stage the feotus is neither male or female (from a physical perspective, genetically they are of course already either or whatever).

The male is the upgraded model human. Stronger and with complicated bits of equipment that require more growth.

What I find odd is how if you draw a simple face, 2 dots and a line for the mouth, it is instinctively a male face, or if you arrange stones on the ground it is always male.

A fetus begins in a very feminine way, and then is changed by testosterone (or proto-testosterone, I suppose) once the level of development reaches that stage. This means that girl babies go through less in the way of changes, and are less vulnerable to something going wrong with those changes as the fetus develops.

Girls have there big changes some 11 to 12 years after they get out of the womb, to make up for it. And again some 40 years later.

The potential for Life is carried by the male and the female of the species but it is nurtured and actually brought to term by the female.

We are just better... That's why!

Actually, as fetuses we are all female, until hormonal changes cause the clit to form into your cockandballs, among other changes. I'm serious- look it up!
