I don't think they should get the death penalty because that's such an easy way out. They should just get life imprisonment with meals that only consist of day old bread and water.

I think the death penalty would be a little too harsh...then we would be killing people left and right (unfortunately) and I don't like the idea of having a society where we just kill people off all the time. Plus, think of how many innocent men would be killed...even though rape is awful, there are awful women who lie about it too and innocent guys end up in jail, or the cops catch the wrong guy. Even though innocent guys get charged with murder too, I think it is a lesser amount than rape charges because with rape the investigations aren't as careful and there is that grey area of date rape and all that sort of stuff.
I do think that rapists and pedophiles should get WAY harsher charges than they do. I think pedophiles should definitely spend life in prison, or at least 50 years plus, and I think violent rapists should spend life in prison. It really makes me sick that we give harsher sentences to drug dealers and robbers sometimes, than to people who are directly harming our women and children. It doesn't make sense to me at all.

I think the victim or the victims family should be able to tortue the rapist fo as long as they want in any way they want--even if it takes years for them to die.
You can't completely rehabilitate rapists and pedophiles--theyre also the highest rate of reoffenders. Castrating the rapist wouldn't do anything, they do these things out of control, not primarily for sex. They can still rape a woman with any phallic shaped object, then can still kill her soul.
Thos people are inhuman, they're lower than insects. They deserve to take all the hatred of society inside themseleves and suffer eternally for it. I have NO sympathy for rapists. I'm not a violent person, and I normally don't support the death penalty, but for rapists, I'll make the eternal exception.

I am not a big fan of the death penalty , but I seriously think you should be salted away in prison for a long time for violent crimes.

Death is too easy for a rapist. They should be locked up with the biggest, meanest, gayest man in the prison. Let the prisoners who have wives and daghters on the outside take care of the bastards.

yes i agree.rape is rape, but i think the punishment should be even worse when it is a virgin being raped. saving your viriginty for the man you want to marry, and then having it ripped away at the hands of a attacker is horrendus.
They have something out now that they think will stop the increase of rape. its called the Rape ex condom, supposedly women put it in their vagina, everyday(which could be inconvienient)and when the attacker tries to insert his penis he gets these razors all over his penis. then he has to go to the hospital to erase the pain.

definitely not. that punishment is way to harsh for many rapists. rape is a broad crime ranging from a misunderstanding of lack of consent to extremely violent behavior. some rapists definitely deserve the max penalty for their crimes but i think others should be dealt with less harshly. you need to look at each criminal and crime individually.

I think life is better because giving them the death penalty is actually letting them off is because they won't be rot like they should they should have to think about there crime everyday til da day they die so life is best.

Life in prison is reasonable, but it is too expensive to the tax payers to put folks on death row. Just let the bas***** suffer through the main population of prison..They'll learn pretty quick what it's like to be raped.

and to judy_r8, if you never did any research don't make a statement about islam that creates confusion and hate.
you may be confused between culture and religion, so, please do a research before generalize.
in islam, unmarried men or women who committed adultery (pre-marital sex) are subject to 100 cannings if found guilty.
married men or women otherwise, are subject to be stoned to death.
rapists depending on whether they are married or not, are subject to the punishments as mentioned above.
girls or women been raped are not subject to any punishments.
