OK. The first and most important question of the book is "Why did the Europeans successfully invade the Western Hemisphere instead of the folks we call 'Native Americans' invading Europe?"

The answers mostly hinge around the fact that with the Euroasian continent being spread so far East to West, a large grassland offered the Euroasians a chance to domesticate many animals. With those animals, like cattle and horses, the Euroasians were exposed to diseases (zooenotic diseases) of the animals and to build a strong immune defense.

When the Europeans came the Western Hemisphere there were only llamas and dogs domesticated over in that area. The immunity of the people was low to such diseases as smallpox and measles. Those diseases did more to conquer the Western Hemisphere than guns or steel ever did.

Hope that helps you. And yes, I read the book. I do not cut and paste answers. Thanks. I happen to read Jared Diamond and think he has lots on the ball.

It's not mainly about evolution.
There's three different parts to the book, I have to have it read by next Wednesday for World History AP, I'm not finished yet, but only part one is about evolution. The rest is about food production and some other things, but Diamond is trying to figure out why the Europeans came to concor just like Neoart said.

neoart is right. course that came from a website i think that he copy and pasted to you. anyoen can do that. but ive taken that class and its mainly about the evolution of humans and the different theories of how humans evolved. was is the big bang theory (we evolved from a galaxy of stars combining into a big burst of molecules forming to create life) or that we all came from god. the theories are debated because of the tools found by cavemen and the guns developed by hunters. germs even evoled from humans, hense the title guns, germs, and steel.
