Image with negative margin not work safari browser on mac os?

This is a css question. It works on IE, Firefox on windows. But not on safari browser.
Basically I want to display an image and serveral buttons on top of it. I need those buttons overlap a little bit with the image. so I use negative margin on image.

Does anybody have this kind of problem?

I use iWeb for that, and it works fine.

What version of Safari? Off the top of my head, Safari doesn't have any issues with negative margins, it's hard to diagnose without seeing your code.
