dwnload legally onto your computer ( like Yahoo of course)
then you can put it on a cd or mp3.
the ones you pay for thta are like music match etc. are safe.
I have anti virus and I have never had any problems.
NOW if your doing free from lime wire you will get infested with spyware, addware etc.

Also you know there are musicians out there who need to get paid all of you who take it for free...

Music you buy shouldn't be infected with viruses. Even if it were, putting it on a memory stick or a CD won't keep it from getting on your computer, so the oz. of prevention your sister thinks would protect her is pretty meaningless. Nothing gets on a CD or memory stick without going through the comp.

on all the ones that are legal there are no viruses because youre buying from a trusted company(ex.yahoo,Itunes) and not some untrusted stranger (ex.limewire,Kazaa)....if you download from a trusted company and download a virus you can sue them for the value of you're computer, it's contents, and maby a little extra for the trouble you will have to go through getting you're stuff back.(they just might give you some free songs..................
........4 the guy above this, lime wire is NOT legal

I just download direct to my hard drive and then transfer it on my MP3 Player and/or CD. I usually clear off downloaded tracks of the hard drive after a while. As long as you have a decent virus software & Firewall protection you should be ok.

if you use limewire, i highly recomend it, and its legal, you can download it off the net for free, then you can pick the folder that your files are sent to. Once they have been downloaded just scan them with your anti virus, i have been using limewire for two years now and have never had a problem. Once they have been downloaded though move them to another folder this will stop you sharing music which can slow down your computer if it has a slow processor
