I thought it was great. Matthew Broderick was great, and so was Denzel Washington. Morgan Freeman, as usual, was also amazing. I learned a lot from it. I originally saw it for one of my history classes in college.

BTW, I'd also recommend A Soldier Story which takes place during WWII. It's about an African American officer who is a detective trying to solve a murder of a sergeant. Actually, Denzel Washington was in that one, too. He is amazing. I liked this even better than Glory.

I hope you enjoy it.

Yes: it's very good. I used as a tool to discuss segregation and civil rights with jr. high students as well as the courage to stick up for what's right, even if it's not popular. Their sacrifice was admirable, and I was disappointed to learn that South Carolina was planning to develop the original site of the fort. A historical preservation group was trying to preserve it, but I don't know if they succeeded.

Glory was super good. I love Matthew Broderick, I think he's wonderful. Denzel's also pretty awesome. It's definitely sad, but it's also really, really good.

Purely dramatic reenacment of a historic event. I was a little dissapointed, though. I was hoping for the blacks to win.

I enjoyed it right up until Broderick offered to lead his men on a suicide mission.
I don't know if it was historically accurate but it was idiotic.

Althuogh historically inaccurate, I feel it was a good flick with a history lesson.
