You don't seriously think the two points matters to anyone do you? You can't eat them, you can't sell them, you can't spend them, hell you can't even give them away. Have you not yet figgured out that they are worthless.

That is so true what you wrote. Too bad not everyone likes to help others. You can tell who the earnest ones are by looking at their 'earning points'; if they have Best Answers in their 'earning points', you know they are serious about this site. I strive to get the most BEST answers possible.
Mr Einstein definitely had the desire. It means (in my opinion) that some people don't count when it comes time to stand up and be heard. And just because they have an answer in the box, doesn't mean they are real answers. I had to answer that even though to me it was more of a rhetorical question.

i think this is the relationship between humans and their feelings towards others more than the obvious counting situation example, money can be counted but if you count on that to represent your life then you arent living it right, but as in, not every thing that can be counted counts a viable person that has an logical or meaningful insight may not be listened to or aknowledged for the simple fact that they are different or not liked for some reason, and then not everything that counts can be counted and then some one comes along with a well below average intelligence with no insight and very illogical, but they count because they are accepted

Material things that can be counted in tanigible goods like money, stocks, cars, property, jewery ect. does not always count or reather cannot not always be counted on. To the people sitting on that bridge in new oleans after the flood a sandwich would have been worth a pocket full of money.
Things life love, good health, friendship, education cannotbe counted materially but definetly counts the most.

There you are honey. The first part means don't be materialistic.
For those things do not matter. It is real life that counts, your friends and family, the experiences. For life is short and you never know when those people in your life will be gone so make
the very best of memories with the things that count honey before
it is to late. Before they can no longer be counted.

I think that saying basically means that there are a lot of big things (trophies, accolades, nations, etc) that don't count for much, but there are a lot of small things (a kind word on the street, a helping hand, a smile on a rainy day) that can't be counted or noticed but that mean a lot.
Also, atoms and particles can count for a lot, and they sure can't be counted. ;)

I get the second part of the quote, which means that some of the most important things in life are not recognized or valued.

This was a sign that was hanging in Albert Einstein’s office at Princeton University.
I think that it was meant to inspire people to use there own minds to achieve beyond what was expected of them academically.
That whatever your grades were ..you still had something to offer that was unmeasurable.

What this means to me is, you can count rocks blades of grass, tooth picks... etc.. but counting them really doesn't matter. But if something like LOVE "counts" or matters to you, you cant attach a number to that.

Not everything counts unless you make it count.
Like quit counting the time, and start making time count.
Now do I deserve my two points?
