I don't have many friends, and I want to have someone I can chat with online. I'm in my early 30s. Can someone suggest a site or a way to make some online friends.

For me its not so easy to just go out and find friends, as I have issues with doing that. That is why I want to find online friends, that maybe can develop into a "real" friendship

Answers is good because one of the many categories here is bound to have someone that shares your interests, just email or IM them and introduce yourself. Often online friends can develop into actual real friends.

There're also many groups here that have others who may share your interests.

myspace is dangerous, don't use it. plus, myspace is kinda stupid, if you ask me. and you obviously are, since you're asking this question on yahoo answers, so that's kinda obvious, so basically you're asking me, or pretty much anyone who is energized enough to lift a finger and come to this website, and i guess i'm qualified to be one of those people, even though i'm getting very off topic here but it's what i do if you ask anyone who knows me but you don't know me or anyone who knows me so you can't exactly do that now can you, i didn't think so, and if you're asking if i'm ever gonna finish this sentence, the answer won't be very pleasing because this sentence is not going to end very soon, if i may tell you, and i've already told you, so what's the point in saying so, you know, people always say something and then after they're already fully done saying that something then they ask for permission, well, not really permission, but you know, so anyway, they ask after they do it, so the person has to say yes, or else they'd just be being rude, which i do all the time, hee hee, ha ha, so it's completely pointless, and so the moral of this story is, don't worry if you're being rude, grab life by the horns and live it, and live it well, without caring what people think or anything, and so now that i've gotten completely off topic, i'm sorry i can't help you. haha you're probably thinking "thank goodness that this sentence has ended." yeah. well, congrats. anyway, if you work, make some friends there. don't even bother going online, i mean, seriously. kk, hope this helped, even though it probably didn't.

i think it would be safer to start going out more and joining groups, and meeting people in real life. also, if you make a routine, (example:going to a cofee shop every sunday morning,) that is a way to make some freinds. if you really want online freinds, set yourself up a myspace. its fun for all ages
