I went to 2 concerts last summer- both at different venues and both said absolutely no camera allowed. So, I didn't bring mine and I'll be darned if at both concerts all kinds of people brought theirs and were snapping away- even in front of security. So, it's up to you and the chance you want to take. But the next concert I go I'm bringing mine.

Call the venue and ask them.
But almost always, cameras arent allowed at big venues unless you have permission to take one (ie. you're a reporter/journalist/writer for a mag/site AND have identification to prove it, or something).
Before you actually go into the venue, a security guard searches you and pats you down to make sure you dont have any weapons or a camera. If you have a camera and they find it, they confiscate it from you and you'll never see it again.
I've been able to sneak a camera inside a big venue by hiding it in a box of tampons in my bag and making sure the security guard that was to search me was male. Males dont usually want to deal with tampons, while females dont mind them, so they wont mind searching the box of tampons (so avoid female guards at all cost). But if you do this, make sure it's an inexpensive camera, not your 300$ digital one, in case they find it and confiscate it from you.
And if you pull that off, make sure to stay out of view from venue workers during the concert while taking pictures. If they see you with a camera, they will most likely kick you out of the venue and take the camera away from you.

I've never heard of a concert allowing cameras. Don't bring it! You can call the venue directly to ask....

I would imagine they would search you, find the camera, and ban you from the concert. Same with movies. You can't go into a movie theatre with a camera. Some teenage kid had one in his hand and was filming "Spiderman 2", and they caught him.

Why not? Unless they said "No cameras allowed", then why not? Take your pictures and have fun!
