I have heard that it does, but more commonly it is effected by how you charge it. leaving it on the charger is not good, especially a car charger. Let the batt run out completely and then charge it over night on the home charger and see if it helps.

extreme heat will have more bad side effecs on your phone than on your battery but yes the efficiency will depreciate over time
