"If we look back into history for the character of the present sects of Christianity, we shall find few that have not in their turns been persecutors, and complainers of persecution. The primitive Christians thought persecution extremely wrong in the pagans, but practiced it on one another. The first Protestants of the Church of England blamed the persecution in the Romish Church, but practiced it upon the Puritans. These found it wrong in the bishops, but fell into the same practice themselves both here [in England] and in New England."
The source of this quote is none other than one of our Founding Fathers, Benjamin Franklin.

andy g: Don't thank me. Thank Ben. He was one of the Founding Fathers of the United States. By the way, what have you accomplished?

43: I don't know if the bit about Franklin's sleeping with Adams' wife or the swindling is true, but I do know that what Franklin says is true. But then again, I've always thought that what people did in their own bedrooms was their own damned business.

andy g: And I see that you are a perfect example of what Christian love is all about. (That's sarcasm, of course.):)
