There isn't a difference, its just a game people like to play. What is it that you want it to mean? Love is something that everyone defines differently and that causes a lot of problems. Someone says they love you and to them that is about whatever their definition is, but to the person hearing i love you their perception is what their definition is. Thats why words are pretty much meaningless and the way you determine whether someone loves you or not is by their actions. There are people around who claim to love the very women that they beat the crap out of on a regular basis. Talk is cheap. So do your husbands actions reflect his love for you? The way he talks to you, the way he treats you? If so then he loves you and quit getting hung up on word games the only thing you will accomplish with them is driving both of you nuts over it.

You know what.....some people get this all wrong! My husband said the same thing to me once but later changed his mind and said he is in love with me and that I am the love of his life. Some people get love confused with passion. They think when the passion goes away that love is gone but that is not true at all.

My husband and I were going through a tough time in our marriage and we almost divorced. We decided to give it our all and work on our marriage. When we began to get into each other, spend time together, make a lot of love then we found the passion again. We both realized then that we never stopped loving each other. MY regret is that we didn't take the time to discover this before he had an affair.
You definitely need to address this with your husband and try to figure out exactly what he means. You should go to counseling too. We did and it did us a world of good.

It means he loves you. The expression "being in love" is just that, an expression. It can mean passion, butterflies in the stomach, walking on air..etc. There are many kinds of love: Love for your parents, siblings, friends and then there's love for your significant other or spouse. They either love you or they don't. Don't get hung up on the word.

Dont pick so much at the specific wording. this means very little. Different people use different words and different ways of verbally expressing thoughts. Are you being treated the way you want? Are being treated as well as you treat him? If so, do'nt make waves or trip out over the absence or inclusion of a little word like(in).

being in LOVE is when you can't eat can't sleep and can't think of anything but this person.. being in love is something that you will only know... Loving someone is different.. you don't marry someone you LOVE.. you marry someone you are IN LOVE WITH... you guys should be in the having sex 4 and 5 times a day.. not asking if he is in love with you? what is really going on in that relationship...Some one that you love you think about things when they ask.. someone you are in love with you give them the last peace of food... someone you are in love with you never let go with out if you have it... Someone you love is like sister or brother friend or cousin... you can love your boy friend but once you fall in love with him or her you start to request more from that person..you will know when you are in love... when you start to do crazy things to the other person, watching them sleep... looking at there breathing pattern when they are sleep...

I love my wife. I am IN love with my wife. Semantics.
The "I love him/her, but I'm not IN love with him/her" line is BULL. Plain and simple. What does that mean I'm not IN love? Is there supposed to be some kind of difference between loving and IN love? Get over it, grow up a little and understand that love is what makes marriage work. The cow-eyed infatuation stuff goes away.
And don't get wrapped up in semantics.

There can be alot of meanings of love.You can love someone as a friend,you can love someone as your other half.Being in love with someone means you want to be there for them all the time,cherish there time.care for them.love them all with your heart..and so on..hope this helps out a bit.

Basically if he is in love you then he dont want to see you go out with someone else and he wants your for himself. But if he loves you then you can be with someone else but if your die or get hit by a car he'll come see your in the hospital.....he might cry cuz your hurt.
