You must be pretty blind to other things to get offended by that. I have seen lots worse on cars, in cars, and on the streets.
News Flash for you.....
Hate groups use the American flag also.
Most of the mistreatment of minorities happened under the American Flag, before, during, and after the Civil War.
Pictures and flags can have many meanings. You have the right to be offended, but why did you wait until the flag got put on a bumper to get mad? Why not start a national group to outlaw it?
If you are going to be mad, do something about it.
That's the reason the flag could end up on a plate, because people who supported it are pushing for it, and not on the net.
The Sons of Confederate Veterans and the Daughters, have meetings, talk to the public, and do memorial services around the South. You put five minutes into a web blog.
If you feel strongly about it, get out there and do something. Its your right and its your freedom. Ranting about it on the net will get you nowhere. You need to put real time into the belief.
Until you are ready to do that, you will accomplish nothing.

Why do people insist on living in the past. Learn from our mistakes and move on.
If they do that then they can not complain about radical Muslims who carry over grudges for 500 years. Most Muslims don't.
why can't we pass a law that if it didn't happen this year it doesn't count. Forgive and forget.
Forget 9/11 get out of Iraq we have more than punished them for any part they may or maynot have had in it. Any Muslim been here over 6 months is an American Citizen end of story.
Make Mexico the 51 state or 52 which ever. All Mexicans are now American Citizens. Move on.
Here if the confederate flag is displayed and this is the south OK redneck country they consider that treason and act accordingly.

While I can appreciate that some people will always have differing opinions based on what they have been told and taught.
It seems to me that the people that think the War for Southern Independence was about racial hatred would at least step back take a deep breath and do their own research to learn what really brought on the war. Anyone that approaches the issue with an open mind centered on learning the TRUTH will soon see that racial hatred never entered the picture. I can cite many different references but anyone that really desires personal enrichment can do the research. Start by looking at the Offical Records of The War of the Rebellion, it is pretty dry reading but it contains a plethora of facts. Facts not hearsay.....facts that will surprise many who have formed opinions based on false information.
In closing remember that over 90% of Southernors/Soldiers never OWNED any SLAVES. When that fact alone is analyzed with an open mind one must ask why then did those 90 plus percent fight?? Must be another reason, you bet there are other reasons! Research and learn the truth.....you will be surprised.

Please know that I understand what you mean about racial hatred. However, in the USA we do honor freedom of speech. That said, I'm sure that people can legally display confederate flags, gay flags, wicca flags ( ?) etc. on their license plates as they please. The swastika might well be forbidden, except that it was originally a Hindu symbol before the Nazis or Hitler confiscated it. And some lawyer and/or the ACLU would be sure to point that out in court. Unfortunately pig ignorant ( my grandma's term) bigots of all kinds will always be with us.Since you can't get rid of them, I would rather they openly advertise their prejudice via license plates rather than by sneaking around at night under sheets, burning crosses. Either way, their hatred of those who are "different" only proves to the world what pathetic, limited little losers they are. It doesn't make them a bit better, smarter, or more worthy than anyone else...even though they might think they are! .

My dear, do your research. The confederate flag does not represent racism. It represents a part of American History. And while you are looking it up, you will learn that the Civil War was not about slavery. It was about economics. Slavery wasn't even an issue in the Civil War until late 1863. The Union was in danger of losing the war and had to do something to turn the tide to their favor. It wasn't until then that freedom to slaves was introduced as an option. You see, our schools don't teach actual history. They give you the politically correct (politely incorrect) version. And before you jump to conclusions, I am not a racist. I never owned a slave and my ancestors immigrated (legally) after the Civil War was fought, so neither did they. But I am a Southerner and a Floridian and I have a Ph.D. Your use of such words as uneducated and white trash to describe Southerners makes you the racist and bigot.

Just because they want to display the confederate flag does not exactly mean they are racist.
I dont get offended when the Mexicans display their flag, or anyone else for that matter. It was a piece of history, the only way it can affect you is if YOU let it.

i think confederate flag is about being a rebel..but i do understand the history
as for the swastika's i think that it has nothing to do with being a rebel..
In both cases alot of races lost alot of people which is unfair but my husband likes the confederate flag and i have some confederate soldiers in my family cematary...
But at the same time you know the us military didnt always choose the right thing take custard..he is known as a yellow hair and people everywhere say that he murdered his soldiers, he knew that they was gonna die..
And yet the man did it yet we still proudly love our soldiers, and we do not set and put them down..granted i do not agree with everything but i do feel there is multiple sides to every story..

I agree with you totally. States need to be much more sensitive to attempts at racism and bigotry and not allow such symbols to be used. It is an outrage and needs to be opposed wherever it rears its ugly head. Write and/or call you state representatives and senators and voice your objection strongly. Pols hate nothing more than letters and phone calls opposing what they are supporting. You can make a difference.
Good Luck!!

Get over it. They have every right to display their F'n flag. Just like millions of idiots have F'n church stickers all over their cars. They are telling you who they are and what they believe in. At least you will know who they are and you won't have to guess.
Stop censoring the world.
