Last week I noticed on some of my emails I got some very strange dates. The years on those dates were like 2038 or 2007(it's not even 2007 yet). Why is this happening?

If the person sending the mail has set his desktop time to the 2038 then you will recieve that date

The most common reason I see the date mistake is actually on purpose from SPAM (junk mail). This is done to shift the listing in your email & to have it stand out. Some email shifts emails by date & then puts them at top or bottom of your inbox. Also, you noticed the email didnt you....thats exactly what they wanted!

If you do not know the source of these mails and neither have any interest in the mail altogether, that means the sender wants the mail to be there in you inbox at the top. Probably it's a spam.

I have also found more information on how email works and how to troubleshoot email related problems at http://tinyurl.com/nnv9f, it works.

don't open the ones you are not sure about ,viruses are most likely to be spread when opened. any strange things you notice , do not open....and strange dates can be a way of getting a virus if opened.

actually this is a rare occurance but it does happen. It would seem you have gremlins in your puter that are trying to mess with your head.
