In the next ten years, I will be considering retirement. I am interested in a suburban setting near a good size city, probably in the mid-west. Low crime, good neighbors, low prices would be appealing. Dallas and Oklahoma City come to mind first. I would appreciate some insight by others.

Oklahoma is a lot cheaper to live than Texas. Property and houses are a lot cheaper in Oklahoma,. I would tell you to choose suburban Tulsa or Oklahoma City. There are lots of hospitals that are not too hard to get too in OKC and Tulsa that are close to interstates and good highways. The traffic in Dallas is terrible. Yukon, Mustang, Edmond, and Norman and good places in the OKC area, and Claremore, Broken Arrow, Owasso, and Catoosa are a few of the Tulsa suburbs that would be nice to live in. Look at Oklahoma, I think you will be impressed.

1)Different weather in both places. Dallas isn't as dry as Okla City so allergies are much worse in TX
2) Compare your health needs with medical availability in both areas.
3) "Low crime and good neighbors" won't be determined long distance. The suburb/community you choose will be the key. And don't be fooled by upscale, "gated" communities...
4)Both are in tornado alley, so natural disasters are a regular part of life for part of the year.
5)"Retirement" doesnt' have to mean not working at all. You might research the job opportunities in both areas. Dallas should be combined with Ft Worth in looking at the area.
Good luck....

Its a comedian tale!!So guy buys a team(Seattle) just to bypass them to Oklahoma city!!yet first he lied to all and sundry with the aid of announcing they wont circulate!!He have been given over on the NBA and the Commissioner!! Whats the NBA coming to whilst they enable a team circulate from a brilliant city like Seattle to a city in Oklahoma?? The Hornets onwer stated that in the event that they dont have the suport of the followers in New Orleans (sixteen,000 consistent with interest)they might circulate to Anahiem and not Oklahoma why is that?

Oklahoma City strikes me as better than Dallas.

Otherwise, check into Jacksonville, FL.
