most yes, there are a few that are wired to be difficult but with a little electonic suport you should get them to work...if your monitor is tooo old it could be more a monitor issue than a compatibility issue

Most monitors are indeed compatible with most computers. Though some newer models require a strictly digital monitor for the system. Often this can be bypassed using a special inexpensive conversion plug that converts a digital DVI connection into an analog VGA connection or vise versa. The DVI plug is typically colored white and contains a 24 pin array, whereas an analog VGA connector often blue, has only 15 pins. Specifically reguarding the models you mention you should be safe in terms of compatibility.

Yes, all monitors are compatible with any IBM base pc, the problem isn't if it's compatible with your computer, it's if your graphic card support you monitor since that is where you plug your monitor, an LCD monitor with a DVI plug ofcourse will not plug into an old graphic card with a VGA plug only. Most new cards noadays have both VGA and DVI slots on them so you wouldn't have to worry.

The monitor may be compatible with the computer by may not be compatible with the OS.

I have a computer that used to run Win 98 SE and the monitor worked fine with it. Once I installed Windows XP on the system it started acting weird. Split screens and sometimes it won't come on at all. When I connect it to system with Win 98 SE it works fine.

Most CRT's (fat monitors) will work with most computers. I would recommend going to the monitor manufacturers website, and upgrading to the latest driver (if it's doesn't have Plug & Play capibility). I'd also recommend upgrading your onboard video/graphics card driver (whichever you have).

The only type of monitor which I KNOW doesn't always work is with some of the newer digital LCD monitors. They require a special graphics card with a certain plug.

Yours should work, however.

No you do not ought to get an HP computer screen. you could be in a position to get an Acer/ASUS/Dell/Samsung computer screen with out having any issues. they're fairly a lot plug and play and artwork with any computer.

as long as your computer has a port for it, you should be ok. Just be careful, the new LCDs are mostly DVI and the old CRTs are VGA. The connectors look and are different.

If you can plug it in, it should work.

If it can be connected, it'll work. There is no certain type that only works with only one kind. None of that crap. There are two types of connection, though. There are adapters for that.
