Probably dead by now but I imagine he fled the country and went to South America or somewhere he could hide out, changed his name and appearance and lived low for the rest of his life.
Smash Hits used to say that Freddie Mercury looked like Lord Lucan!!! They used to call him Lord Frederick Lucan of Mercury (This was back in the 80s). . . .

He moved in with my mum and became a trans sexual, he is now called Lady Lucan and he does line dancing in the labour club in scunthorpe every Thursday evening in a fringed denim skirt and cowboy boots.
He still has the moustache though.....bit of a giveaway!
