It comes up at the bottom of the screen in orange and pings. Then a banner comes across the screen telling me Outlook is running and I need to close windows. I'm stuck. The help desk talk in jargon and so I am no nearer to solving this infuriating problem.

Outlook Express is a troublesome thing.
Abandon it and install one (or two) of the free email accounts,i.e.
Netscape, AOL.
I did so after years of suffering from OE6.

First of attempt to uninstall Adobe reader and then re-installation. u must tell as wich os system u use if u use win2000 u must update with service pack4 if u use xp u probly have trojans scan your system or use better mail editor like thunderbird.
