right in situations like this it is a case of checking everything so do these checks in this order
1)check that your ram modules are seated correctly in the banks and that the clips are secure at either end, also check that all modules are compatible(a computer shop may check this for you on a test bed)
2)check all cables 1)atx power cable..check this is securely connected this moves the power 2)ide cables dvd-rom,hard drive 3) all remaining motherboard cables,,led, usb, flopy
3)check that all your cards are securely attached to your pci/agp slots....push them lightly to check..but not too hard
4)if you have a desktop..check any riser boards are securely slotted into their ,the reason for this is there are saftey switches connected to the base of the boards that will stop your p.c from working if they are not securely slotted in
5)go to your motherboards website and try to download a manual for the motherboard and then you can use this to do a complete inspection of the board, this way you can rule out having pulled out a lead or cable that may be causing this malfunction
6)check all pins on leads,,i.e monitor plug...a bent pin can cause problems
7)you may have had a psu failure...check the required wattage and purchase another,,,,there only cheap
8)lastly try and find a spare p.c and if possible try all components(except cpu) so you can rule out each card and component
this is a list of what i do when i am given a p.c that wont boot up,its basically a case of trial and error, would you let me know if you manage to revive the p.c
good luck

If you had right clicked on my computer on the desktop you would have been able to have seen how much RAM you had and if you had gone into the bios have found out what CPU you have. I guess you don't know too much about pc's so I think you had better take it to a technician to find out what the h*ll you did when took the back off.

Could be a number of things to be honest,I have heard of systems that do no boot until the case is correctly closed up so start there,
Other than that I need more info for a better diagnosis
Does your power supply fan run,
Is there any activity from the HDD lights
Do the Keyboard lights activate

how gentle were you when you did this? Did you unplug the poweer cable 1st?
Are your RAM sticks in the right slots? Are they seated properly? Did you play touchey-feely with your CPU and overload it? If you removed or replaced your CPU incorrectly you could have damaged that.
Check power cables between your power unit and your mobo, also check ide cables , your graphics card seating etc etc. Check online for a manual which explains where and what should be plugged into your mobo.
And i hope this teaches you not to play with your PC

try unplugging the mains power to the computer and then removea ll the leads from the back of the computer.
leave it 24hrs and then plug it all back together and try it again.
also make sure that the cover is on properly as some new computers have a switch so that u cannot power them up if u are able to touch things inside.
if it does'nt work e-mail me a at matt220292@yahoo.co.uk

Hmmm tricky one, could be a multitude of things.
Firstly try reseating everything, Graphics card, memory and any other cards you have.also all connections on system bd ie power.
also check to see if you have knocked the power out of your graphics card, not all cards need extra power but worth checking.
You should always use ESD mat and strap before you touch the components this could be the reason why its not working.
Good luck!

make sure the 'ribbon' cables are on the hard drive and CD drive, the primary cable should be on the hard drive, and secondary on the CD drive. If not, check all the little coloured wires are all still plugged in, and the power pack is plugged in (it seems obvious but it happens)

You clearly do not know what your doing, there was no need to open the computer to find out what RAM & CPI you have, take the computer to a shop & tell them what a plonker you are & ask them to take a look at it.
